Welcome to Shit People Steal, in which we ask restaurateurs what items in their restaurant have been (or are frequently) stolen.
This just in: Pinxto is missing. Pinxto, the crass, foul-mouthed perro mascot at Tavernita and Barcito, was minding his own business (OK, likely harassing some passing ladies) at the Common Threads Cook-Off Thursday night at Fulton's on the River when someone snatched him from the table. "I think it's just weird that someone would steal something at a charity event," said Pintxo's guardian Ryan Poli, who was visibly shaken and upset this morning.
"We are all highly distressed by his disappearance," said Tavernita spokeswoman Janet Isabelli. Pinxto is reportedly a tough little pooch and is likely giving his captors a run for their money, but he is fragile and needs to be reunited with his family so he can get his daily intake of kalimotxos (a chilled red wine and cola drink). If you have any information, leave it in the comments or tweet a message to Pinxto. No ransom note was left and a reward is being offered for his safe return.
Be on the lookout for Pinxto. He's recognizable by the following stats:
· Height: 1/2 foot
· Weight: 3 kilos
· Color: Black and white
· Last seen: Humping someone's leg at the Common Threads Cook-Off on Thursday, 9/27 at 8 p.m. at the Tavernita table
· Responds to: Pintxo, perro and "dog"
· Always seen: Drinking gin and tonics and kalimotxos
· Speaks: Spanglish. Approach with caution
