Red Door will host the first Chef's Night Off, an ongoing series of pop up dinners, on October 8. The event was conceptualized by line cooks across the city and will offer the chance to sample tastings from some of the developing talents in Chicago's culinary scene. Each Chef's Night Off will feature different cooks and concepts alongside an original cocktail menu by new Red Door mixologist Jay Schroeder.
The first dinner, ¡Chingon!, is a vision of Mexican bar food through the modern American interpretations of cooks Steve Newman and Graham Stein. The shared plates tasting menu will be pork-focused with dishes such as carnitas flautas and horchata-braised pork shoulder. There will be four seatings throughout the evening and tickets can be purchased online.
