Are you ready to get crafty? Maybe spirited? How about both? Starting Oct. 1, the first-ever Craft Spirit Week Chicago will come to town, coinciding with the Independent Spirits Expo on Oct. 3. Craft Spirit Week, created by the folks at FEW Spirits, Koval Distillery and North Shore Distillery, will host a week of tasting events, seminars, dinners and open houses taking place throughout the city.

The aim of the week is to showcase craft distillers mainly from the Midwest, but they're spreading the love around to highlight those who make your favorite spirits all over. There will be events surrounding everything from whiskey and mezcal to gin and even a session discussing aperitifs and digestifs (that's happening at the Fountainhead Oct. 2). Expect some pretty cool events at places like the Whistler, Masa Azul, Delilah's and Evolution Wines. Don't miss the "bring your weird" session at Watershed on Oct. 2 where you'll taste through a number of odd spirits for $10. The full roster of events is online. Get ready to drink, Chicago.
