Our thoughts go out to the family of Jeffrey Russell, the owner of Cross-Rhodes diner in the Main Street shopping district of Evanston. Russell, 60, who has owned the Greek diner for many years at 913 Chicago Avenue, died unexpectedly Tuesday after sustaining injuries thought to be from a fall down stairs in his home above the restaurant. Russell's family will continue to run the restaurant and are inviting patrons to stop by Thursday between 6 and 9 p.m. to pay respects. [Evanston Review via Grub Street] (photo)
