Lillie's Q is launching a new beer, and to celebrate, chef Charlie McKenna is throwing a party with seven of his closest chef friends.
On August 21, Stephanie Izard, Matthias Merges (Yusho), Chris Pandel (The Bristol and Balena), Mike and Pat Sheerin (Trenchermen), Greg Biggers (Café des Architectes) and Chris Curren (Stout Barrel House) will join McKenna at Lillie's Q from 7 to 10 p.m. for a charity event with all of the proceeds going directly to The Katherine McKenna Brothers Scholarship Fund, a small foundation created by McKenna's dad and uncle in honor of their sister who died of breast cancer. The fund provides scholarship money to female students at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, where Charlie's aunt received her undergrad degree.
The Lillie’s Q Inferno Imperial IPA, which will debut that night was created with Goose Island brewmaster Jared Rouben and is a double India pale ale brewed with a trio of hops and infused with inferno chili peppers. The beer was designed to pair perfectly with the Lillie's Q BBQ.
If you want to attend the event you better move quickly as there are only 100 tickets available. For $100 you will get two eight ounce pours of the Inferno Imperial IPA, a Lillie's Q Bourbon cocktail (also debuting that night) and passed appetizers from the eight chefs. Everyone will also receive a pink silicone gel bracelet that features the Lillie’s Q name and Katherine's initials. Anyone wearing the bracelet during future visits to Lillie’s Q will receive 10 % off their tab for a lifetime. Ticket sales end on the August 20, so nab them right away.
