Like someone who sneaks up behind you without warning, Bavette's Bar & Boeuf has quietly opened in River North. Bavette's, the latest spot from Brendan Sodikoff, is an American steakhouse with a European feel at 218 W. Kinzie, and it's currently in a soft opening mode while the team gets things finalized.
Sodikoff dropped Eater an email late on Monday saying they were accepting limited reservations "until we're on point and find our rhythm" with all proceeds benefitting charity (according to 312 Dining Diva, it's all going to Heshima Kenya, an organization that helps unaccompanied refugee children and youth living in Nairobi.) A few spots are open today through Thursday between 5 and 10 p.m. so call 312-624-8154 after 3 p.m. to try and snag a table (for four or less people).
Bavette's, which was supposed to originally open last fall, is currently taking reservations starting Aug. 14. You may want to jump on that now because as it's been seen with Sodikoff's others spots Gilt Bar and Maude's Liquor Bar, the tables go fast. Bavette's reportedly will also have a burger bar with a possible walk-up window.
