So for months, the new tiki bar being helmed by Paul McGee in partnership with the Melman brothers was simply referred to as tiki bar. The space, to open this fall below the forthcoming Bub City, finally has a name: Three Dots and a Dash.
McGee tells Time Out Chicago that the bar is named for a rum-based Don the Beachcomber drink from the 1940s that's a favorite of McGee's. The bar, to open in late October at 435 N. Clark, will feature a mix of classic tiki drinks and some McGee originals like the Poipu Beach Boogie Board with rye, Lemon Hart 151 rum, maraschino liquor, pineapple, guava and more. And drinks will be blended and swizzled. Kind of how you should feel after drinking a few.
