Where yesterday was shrouded in a bit of mystery, today is a different story. On Monday, Eater learned that BellyQ, the new modern Asian barbecue joint being opened by Bill Kim and Cornerstone Restaurant Group, would open sometime this week. Today, the team revealed exclusively to Eater that they'll now open for dinner at the West Loop restaurant at 5 p.m. Wednesday night.
The following day, BellyQ's carry-out business, BellyQ To Go, which they've dubbed BQ2GO, will open up at 11 a.m., just in time for lunch. Unfortunately not all is being revealed as Kim is still keeping his menus to himself for now. But they did say they'll offer things at BQ2GO like wraps, salads and other grilled meats. Stay tuned. Tomorrow is another day ... maybe they'll let loose with the menus.
While the team is still not yet allowing photography of the space, BellyQ did share the above photo, which shows the front bar with what looks like chain-mail lampshades above a long wooden communal table, granite-topped bar (maybe Silestone?!), large windows and exposed brick, which all falls in line with the urban look and feel the restaurant is going for. This is definitely not one sixtyblue anymore.
