Restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff is planning to open an outpost of his uber-hot West Loop diner Au Cheval in London. When Eater reached out to Sodikoff this morning, he confirmed he's planning to open a second Au Cheval in the British capital with a few modifications to the concept. Other than that, he couldn't expand on where it would be located or when it will open. Pretty exciting though they're going international.
This news comes on the heels that Jeff Pikus had left the exec chef spot at Maude's Liquor Bar to work back at Gilt Bar while helping to open the forthcoming Bavette's Bar & Boeuf, all of which are owned by Sodikoff. Sodikoff told 312 Dining Diva that Pikus had "expressed interest in new challenges." Eater had heard Pikus had moved over, but didn't make much of it since he's still working within the same restaurant group. The chef said he won't be the helming the kitchen at Bavette's, but will help open the space while mentoring another chef into the position.
