Estate Ultra Bar, the new indoor/outdoor space that took over the former eyesore known as Life's Too Short on the Chicago River, has just debuted its newest attribute: an outdoor deck. Dubbed StarDeck, the 4,000 square foot spot soft opened this week just in time for the crazy heat wave and Fourth of July festivities.
StarDeck has an open floor design with white wicker sectionals boasting orange cushions—a nice slice of South Beach set just above the seemingly less chic river—and a glass wall that wraps around the entire exterior of the space. Two bars will serve up cocktails and guests can snack on dishes like the lobster mac, pork belly petite sammies and grilled baby octopus with watermelon radish and frisee. Watch for private cabanas, a mister system and flat-screens to come in the near future. Too bad they aren't installing a pool. Now that would be perfect.
