With a vote of 44 to 1, the Chicago City Council passed a new food truck law. With the passing, people will now be allowed to prepare and cook food on board trucks, which they were previously unable to do. Despite the passing, many food truck owners are dissatisfied with the law and its restrictions, which include not parking within 200 feet from any brick and mortar restaurant (many think this is impossible in the Loop) and mounting a trackable GPS device.
