So after all that, Anthony Bourdain still made it to Budacki's Drive In. The outspoken traveling chef was in Chicago last week shooting spots for an upcoming episode of his Travel Channel show The Layover. He had been scheduled to shoot at Budacki's, a North Side hot dog stand, but abruptly canceled it after the shop posted a note that Bourdain would be there and offered up $1 hot dogs to diners.
But on Saturday afternoon, when the original shoot had been scheduled, Bourdain tweeted that he was, in fact, at the hot dog stand. "Budacki's Drive In!!! Stealth shoot. In the show after all." So was Bourdain's tweet last week about stopping the shoot legit or was it merely a way to pump up some local PR to bring more attention to him being in town? If you happened to be there, leave a comment and let us know what went down.
