Returning for its eighth year, Chefs and the City will take place next Friday, July 27 at The Ritz-Carlton to support Vital Bridges, which helps people affected by HIV/AIDS by providing food, nutrition counseling, housing and more. The event starts with a VIP Reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Main Tasting at 7:30 where guests will sample food from some of Chicago’s biggest chefs. Closing things out will be an after party (tickets $50 in advance) with live music from DJ Megan Taylor.
The gala will feature a star-studded lineup of chefs such as Brian Huston (The Publican), who will be making Publican ham chop in hay with stone fruit, pecans and rosemary; Heather Terhune (Sable Kitchen & Bar) - applewood smoked duck, grilled corn Johnny cake, blueberry salsa, duck cracklins; Dale Levitski (Sprout, Frog & Snail) - corn mousse with stone and bacon cake, truffle corn salad; Patricio Sandoval (Mercadito) - tacos estilo baja; Paul Virant (Perennial Virant) - ricotta gnudi, merguez, peppers; and Ryan Poli (Tavernita) - escalivada. Tickets can be purchased online for $250 (VIP tickets are $400).
