Quinn Signs Shark Fin Ban

New, 4 comments

Pat-Quinn-070212.jpgIf you liked shark fin soup, you'll have to leave the state to get it. On Sunday at the Shedd Aquarium, Gov. Pat Quinn signed into law a bill making it illegal to sell, trade or distribute shark fins in the state, the first inland state to do so. By creating the law, Quinn said Illinois will now aid in worldwide push to save the shark population. Shark fins have been used in soup and other Asian recipes. [Tribune] (photo: Getty)
