Well this news seemed to come out of nowhere, but looking back it all makes sense: Urban Union's Jason Chan is teaming with Arami's B.K. Park for a new sushi and Japanese seafood spot. The pair hope to open a 100-seat restaurant, but haven't yet signed the deal on the space since another restaurant is currently still operating there. Hence, there's no word on where it'll happen, but Chan ruled out West Loop, which was previously reported.

Both Chan and Park recently left their respective restaurants. Chan, a partner at Urban Union, announced a few weeks ago that he had split from chef Michael Shrader. And, just days later, Park sent shockwaves through the sushi-loving world when he left Arami for "personal reasons." Either way, if this partnership sticks, Chan tells Dish they're loosely targeting a fall opening sometime between October and December.
