The kitchen is about to heat up as it was just announced that Stephanie Izard will battle Iron Chef Michael Symon on Iron Chef America on Aug. 26. The challenge should be heated as Izard, a Food & Wine best new chef and a James Beard nominee, is also fiercely competitive. She will likely do whatever it takes to beat Symon and will do it with a smile. No word on what the secret ingredient is, but you can bet it won't be goat. The show airs at 9 p.m. CT on Aug. 26 and again at midnight.
The chefs go head to head and their fate will be decided by actor Anthony Anderson, restaurant PR expert Karine Bakhoum and food TV personality David Rocco. In the recent past, two other Chicago chefs, Todd Stein (Piccolo Sogno Due) and David Schneider (Taxim) competed against Bobby Flay and Cat Cora, respectively. Both, unfortunately, lost. Let's see if Izard can bring home the win to Chicago.
