The re-opened Velvet Lounge is having trouble drawing in clientele. The South Loop club, which shuttered after original owner saxophonist Fred Anderson died in 2010, is open Wednesday through Sunday and is having trouble making ends meet merely as a jazz venue so it has added additional genres on different nights. Another possible reason for the troubles? Poor marketing. Maybe they need better awareness at nearby McCormick Place? [Chicago Journal via Chicagoist]
