Is Chef Lee Wolen Bringing Star Power to the Peninsula?

New, 10 comments

Word on the street is that Lee Wolen, the now-former sous chef at New York's three-Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, is back in Chicago to work at The Peninsula. No word yet on what is going on at the storied hotel, but Eater hears changes are coming to the lobby restaurant; things likely won't go into effect until after Labor Day.

Wolen, who has worked at local places like Butter and Moto and also staged at elBulli, has a rep for being a "badass chef" who is extremely talented and an all-around great guy, so it'll be good to see the Pen get some star wattage after Curtis Duffy left last year. A source said that the Peninsula, "made a good choice [with Wolen], whatever his title is." [EaterWire]
