While nearly every neighborhood in the city has its requisite summer street fair, the culinary offerings of corn dogs and fried dough generally don't cut it. Fortunately, the 11th Annual Taste of River North street festival takes things up a notch by tapping area restaurants to serve up tasty fare at the fair.
Located in and around A. Montgomery Ward Park (at Kingsbury and Erie), the Taste, which takes place July 20 through July 22, will feature area restaurants like Fleming’s Steakhouse, Kinzie Chophouse, Ai Japanese, Zocolo, Hubbard Inn and more.
Local artisans and live music round out the celebration – with Poi Dog Pondering closing things out Sunday night. Tickets for food and drink samples will be sold for $1 each, while there is a suggested $5 donation for admittance. Sounds like a steal.
