DOWNTOWN— It's an enduring springtime tradition at Curbed to sum up major development projects in the pipeline in a condensed pictorial tour. We've collected 20 or so in the downtown vicinity that are in some stage of active development (or are, at least, remotely alive). If all were to happen quickly, we'd have ourselves a noticeably altered skyline. That's unlikely, but it's still fun to be reminded what's out there.
LINCOLN PARK— Larry Booth's exceptional 'House of Light' has a buyer for $2M. That's $1.2M below last year's list price. Not bad considering the home is a real prize of modern architecture. Oh yeah, and it's really big.
FULTON RIVER DISTRICT— Financing has fallen in place for what will be the largest tower to break ground since the 2008 market collapse. Known as River Point, the 45-story building is being built on spec by Hines Interests, who is scarily confident it'll fill 900,000-square-feet of office space as the project rolls along. Happily for Hines, Rahm has already stepped in with a pledge of $29M in public TIF money. How nice.
LAKE FOREST— Sometimes a 10,000-square-foot David Adler-designed colonial mansion just isn't enough. That's why the seller of Adler's Cudahy Mansion is sweetening the deal for agents by offering a 1991 Bentley 8 to the first to complete the sale. The ask? $4.9M.
