It looks like Graham Elliot's new, casual dining spot, G.E.B., is getting closer to opening. The restaurant, which is located next to Nellcôte on Randolph Street in the West Loop, is now shooting to open on June 1, according to a tweet Elliot sent out on Sunday.
Elliot has said G.E.B. would have a religion-meets-rock 'n' roll theme featuring reclaimed church pews, stained glass and specially designed "saint candles" depicting famous chefs and musicians in designs created by Elliot's brother. But the first look of the restaurant's almost-finished facade shows that G.E.B. looks a little like a British pub. Sounds like it'll be a little be more raucous than religious, but only time will tell.
