Roger Feely's Soul Cocina from SF Popping Up at Dodo

Chef Roger Feely would regularly have pop-ups and street food events during his tenure in San Francisco under the Soul Cocina moniker (he also worked at a variety of restaurants like Flying Saucer and Citizen Cake). With training in Spain, India and even New Mexico, Feely has acquired knowledge on a number of different types of cuisines. He recently moved to Chicago and is continuing the Soul Cocina brand and holding a pop-up at Dodo (954 W. Fulton).

On April 18 from 6 to 9, Soul Cocina will take over the Fulton Market restaurant to host an evening of Ziryab's Kitchen, dedicated to the 9th century musician, poet and roaming foodie who, legend says, brought the food of Baghdad to Northern Africa and Southern Spain. The night will feature a multi-course family-style feast (with music and movies playing) with both meat-loving ($48) and vegan ($43) options, fresh baked bread and handmade spreads. Word is that he had a pretty loyal following in SF so get your tickets now to experience what sounds like a pretty cool multi-cultural event.
