RIVER WEST—The Point (401 N. Milwaukee), a new bar from the former owner of Matilda's and Clutch, has opened in a historic 1846 building with globe lighting and a number of HDTVs. The menu has things like pork short rib nachos, lobster po' boys and duck confit cassoulet. The Point opens today at 4 p.m. [Thrillist]
LAKESHORE EAST—Amuse, the new laid-back lounge inside the recently renovated $10 million lobby at the Swissotel, is now open for Bavarian pretzels, deep-fried green olives, fried avocado with spicy lump crab, veal schnitzel sliders and more. Plus a great cocktail list. [Urban Daddy]
ROGERS PARK—Felice's, a new Roman-style pizza joint run by Loyola University students, is now open at 6441 N. Sheridan. [EaterWire]
LAKEVIEW—Nhu Lan Saigon Subs, a sister spot to Nhu Lan Bakery, is now officially open at 604 W. Belmont in the former Cloud9 space and specializing in bahn mi sandwiches. [EaterWire]
WILMETTE—While the city has plenty of steakhouses, the North Shore is benefitting from the opening of the Wilmette Chop House in the old Bluette space at 1162 Wilmette Ave. The 44-seat spot is currently BYO and is serving steaks from Al's Meat Market across the street. [Dish]
