Lakeview Starbucks to Serve Wine and Beer

So remember when Starbucks announced it would add beer and wine to seven Chicago-area stores in 2012? Eater has learned that three of the locations are currently going through the licensing process to sell alcohol and one is in the heart of Lakeview at Diversey and Sheffield.

Two more spots are in the suburbs in Burr Ridge and Schaumburg, but as for the other four, a rep for Starbucks didn't have additional information. But once the licensing goes through, expect the neighborhood coffee shop to have a selection of wine and beer that "will be tailored to match local customer tastes and preferences," according to the Starbucks rep, and small plates, like cheese, charcuterie, flatbreads and savory snacks. And with that Lakeview shop's outdoor patio, it sounds perfect for the area's stroller set to kick back with a bottle in the summer.
