Ann Sather Taking Over Closed Bananas Foster Spot

New, 1 comment

Despite having a pretty solid local following and having recently undergone a dining room expansion, Bananas Foster Cafe abruptly closed last October. But that left an opportunity for another restaurant to move into a prime space at the corner of Broadway and Granville and Ann Sather, which has been in Chicago for more than 65 years, is taking advantage of that.

Ald. Harry Osterman sent out a weekly email update today announcing the Swedish breakfast spot, known for its amazing cinnamon rolls, would be moving in and that its nearby location on Clark Street in Andersonville will also continue to remain open. The restaurant should open in about two to three weeks, according to call to the original location on Belmont in Lakeview. This will be the fifth Ann Sather location in the city, all owned by Ald. Tom Tunney.
