While Chicago's craft beer scene is heating up, one forthcoming place has hit a snag. New Chicago Beer Company was set to launch inside The Plant, a sustainable new vertical farming eco-system housed in the former Peer Foods building in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, and begin bottling this past March. But due to things getting pushed back, the brewery has pulled out of the project.
On Monday, owners and brothers Samuel Evans and Jesse Edwin Evans posted a note to their blog saying they'd be moving out of the Plant "due to unforeseen circumstances with the building’s continuing redevelopment, our launch would be pushed back if we remained." As for where they'll end up, that's still up in the air, but Eater is told that they "plan to stay in the city."
