And now the latest from Curbed Chicago, covering everything you need to know about the city's neighborhoods and real estate...
GLENCOE— Kyle Korver is selling his Glencoe mansion, you may have heard. In fact, it's already in contract. Come have a look at the large but formulaic property while it still belongs to someone halfway interesting (joke).
EVERYWHERE— We've never much cared for the willy-nilly use of the term 'brownstone' in real estate listings. And in Chicago, where actual brownstones are relatively scarce, there's a lot of territory for exploitation. This week we took a look at some usages around town, all questionable to say the least.
KENWOOD & NEAR NORTH— In this semi-novel feature (for us), we pitted two identically-priced properties against each other to see which one readers preferred: jaw-dropping modernist penthouse or picturesque Italianate mansion. Sorry for you, voting is closed, but the properties are still well worth scoping out.
ROSCOE VILLAGE— In this installment of least expensive properties, we're looking at five cheapies in increasingly posh Roscoe Village. They're surprisingly nice condos, all of them, and they hover around the $200K mark. Of course, you could get a house in neighboring Avondale for that price.
