Is Pizano's Taking Over the Shuttered Crust Space?

New, 3 comments

Is the streamlined Crust sign going to be replaced by a green and red awning boasting a nod toward Italy and traditional Chicago-style deep dish pizza? Word on the street is that a long-standing Chicago pizza family would take over the former organic pizza restaurant that closed after service on New Year's Eve.

It looks like Pizano's Pizza, owned by Rudy Malnati, Jr., whose father opened Pizzeria Uno in 1943, may be the one moving in. This would be the fifth Chicago-area Pizano's, and the fourth in the city. A call to the company's corporate office couldn't confirm the news, but the person who answered said, "Looks like news travels fast." This story will be updated as we get more information from Pizano's.
