Rockit Ranch Readying Dragon Ranch Moonshine & BBQ

New, 21 comments

A little while back news leaked that Rockit Ranch Productions was possibly working on a new Korean BBQ restaurant and now the news is confirmed with some slight tweaks: RRP is gearing up to open Dragon Ranch Moonshine & BBQ. While many details are still under wraps, including the opening date and exact location, the restaurant will be in "the heart of River North" and is targeting a summer opening.

Dragon Ranch came out of the RRP partners' shared passion for barbecue and the menu will be inspired by American comfort food with a nod toward Asian influence. They'll likely pull some ideas from sister concept Sunda, which focuses on cuisine from throughout Asia.

As the name suggests, the restaurant's cocktail program, which is being done in conjunction with the mixology team from the Underground (RRP's River North nightclub), will have a focus on moonshine. In fact, the team will work with a distillery to create its own branded moonshine for use in the cocktail program.

While things seem to still be in the earlier phases (the restaurant's trademark was just filed on March 7), it can't be too far away from opening since Dragon Ranch will hold an open call for both kitchen and front of house positions on April 2 at Rockit Bar & Grill (22 W. Hubbard) between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
