Looks like people just can't get enough of Jessica Oloroso's gelato because the Black Dog Gelato creator is expanding her business. While you still won't find it widely at your favorite local grocer and will still have to travel to get it, Oloroso is making it a bit easier as Black Dog will open a second location this spring to join its original Ukrainian Village spot.
Oloroso just took over the recently shuttered Bleeding Heart Bakery location at 1955 W. Belmont and is planning to open in late spring. The new spot will have expanded seating and a larger production area. While information about the look and feel of the new space hasn't yet been revealed, it's safe to assume it will feature Black Dog's signature pink. Look for fave flavors like goat cheese cashew caramel and malted vanilla alongside new plated desserts, like a Hawaiian barbecue sundae with roasted pineapple and barbecue sauce.
