It looks like Chicago actually does need another burger joint. At least that's the thinking behind the conversion of Rockit Bar & Grill in Wrigleyville into Rockit Burger Bar. After getting feedback from customers, the restaurant found that most people were ordering burgers and sandwiches, especially on Cubs home game days when more than 90 percent of food orders were burgers.
On Cubs opening day (April 5), Rockit exec chef Amanda Downing will introduce a revamped menu comprising 16 gourmet burgers, flatbread pizza made in a wood-burning oven and numerous salads. Some of the burger offerings include the Buffalo Bluebird (crispy breaded chicken, blue cheese, lettuce and tomato on a pretzel bun), truffle mushroom burger (black angus patty, gruyere cheese and truffle crème fraiche) and the Farmhouse (black angus patty, barbecue pulled pork, fried egg and applewood smoked bacon). And, of course, the menu will have the Rockit Burger. Most burgers will cost $12.
