Bacon lovers rejoice, there are only two months left until Baconfest Chicago on April 14, taking place at the UIC Forum. More than 100 restaurants and chefs will serve up their bacon creations over two separate “lunch” and dinner” sessions, with the complete lineup for each session now listed on the website.
Last year saw creative dishes such as bacon and foie gras moon pie and banana panna cotta with cherry wood smoked bacon brittle receive high marks. This year the work of a number of acclaimed chefs including Chris Pandel (The Bristol), Sarah Grueneberg and Aaron Diener (Cafe Spiaggia), Stephanie Izard (Girl & the Goat), Art Smith (Table Fifty-Two), and Nathan Sears (Vie) will be on display. A number of liquor sponsors will be on hand serving beer and bacon-based cocktails like The Fifty/50’s Bacon Bloody Mary the “Wobble Stopper.” VIP tickets are sold out but $75 GA tickets will be on sale soon.
