GQ's restaurant connoisseur Alan Richman came out with his list of the ten best restaurants of 2011 and two Chicago restaurants made the list. Richman puts Next at number three given its "ability to recover lost food and tastes, and with them perhaps some satchel, too, of lost memories." He also gives props to Ruxbin and places them at number nine on the list, with Richman boldly stating that the "Cream of Wheat, enriched and amplified by lamb drippings and brown butter, is maybe the best thing I ate all year."
