Achatz, Bayless, More Make Chicago Mag's Most Powerful

Chicago Magazine released their list of the 100 most powerful Chicagoans, and in addition to those you would expect to see like Rahm Emanuel and Penny Pritzker, are quite a few chefs and restauranteurs. This year, the mag defines power as not just wealth or position, but "the power to influence; to electrify crowds; to inspire devotion." Certainly there are quite a few Chicago chefs that fall into the category.

Making the list this year is: #9 Grant Achatz (Next, Alinea), #34 Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill), #42 Paul Kahan (Blackbird, Publican), #56 Rich Melman (Lettuce Entertain You), #75 Brendan Sodikoff (Gilt Bar) , #89 Scott Harris ( Francesca's), and #96 Tony Hu (Lao Sze Chuan).
