What happens when you get chefs Rick Gresh (David Burke's Primehouse), Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish & Oyster, Boka) and Cleetus Friedman (City Provisions) together? They come up with a pretty cool event called the CigarBQue, taking place on June 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event features food and drinks from top notch chefs and mixologists from Chicago and beyond, not to mention fine cigars, of course. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the Cigar Family Foundation which, in partnership with the Instituto Dominicano de Desarrollo Integral, helps fight poverty in the Dominican Republic through education, disease prevention and empowerment.
In addition to Gresh, Friedman, and Tentori, those at the event will taste dishes from Chicago chefs Jimmy Bannos Sr. (Heaven on Seven), Todd Stein (Florentine), Mike and Patrick Sheerin (Trencherman), Sarah Jordan (Boka) and Willie Wagner (Honky Tonk BBQ). David Lefevre , chef of Manhattan Beach Post in California and Cliff & Maureen Holt from Little Savannah in Birmingham, Alabama will also travel in for the evening. Eric Hay (Wirtz), Daniel de Oliveira (Olmeca Altos tequila), Ben Schiller (Boka) and Fred Sarkis (Sable Kitchen) will be serving up cocktails.
The event will take place outdoors at Beyond Design in Ravenswood. Tickets are $185 for the event and only a limited amount are available so get them while you still can, right here.
