Ramen lovers, rejoice. After pushing back their opening date quite a few times, the new handmade ramen-focused spot Oiistar is opening tomorrow in Wicker Park. The narrow space has mostly high-top tables and will seat 50. There is also an expansive birch bar that will seat 15.
Chef "Sunny" (Se Jin Yim) has created a small menu that includes four ramen dishes like the Oiimen with pork belly, poached egg and tree ear mushroom; and the muscleman with mussels, chili pepper and Bonito miso. Also on the menu are a handful of appetizers like grilled spicy pork ribs; tempura portabello and avocado fries; and sauteed tiger shrimp.
Oiistar will be open for dinner only, with the hopes to add brunch down the line.
