It appears that Andrew Brochu, the former executive chef at Graham Elliot who parted ways with the restaurant in an unexpected chef shuffle back in September, has made a suprising next step. According to writer Carly Fisher, he has landed at German sports bar Uberstein in Wicker Park. But it's not as crazy as it sounds. According to Fisher's tweet, the bar and restaurant will close on January 1 and will open a week later as "Less German, More Awesome," under Brochu's guidance. What will remain of this current Uberstein location—its menu, its name, its look—is still unclear, but Brochu did tell Fisher that he plans on bringing back some of his signature dishes from Kith & Kin, which he ran before it shuttered surprisingly in May 2011.

Eater has reached out to Brochu and the folks at Uberstein for more details.
