MH Fish House Opening December 29

New, 6 comments

There's about to be a restaurant on the North Shore serving 95% fresh seafood. MH Fish House, from the team behind Lake Forest's Market House on the Square and chef Dominic Zumpano, is coming next Saturday. Zumpano, nominated for a James Beard in 2009 for his work at Umami Moto in Milwaukee, describes the concept as "sea to table." All fish is less than 24 hours out of the water.

The menu will change week to week. "It's all depending on what's available coast to coast," Zumpano says. One noteworthy dish is tandoori-rubbed octopus with pomegranite seeds, carbonated orange segments, house-made bacon, and sherry-cream sauce. They'll also feature scallop gnocchi, oysters, crudo, and escargot; non-seafood plates include rabbit-loin garlic sausage and venison braciole. Entrees will run in the $25-40 range.

The beverage program is so wine-focused, the entire wine list will be available by the glass. The space seats 60 and features a four-seasons porch.
