Two LYFE Kitchens Coming by Summer

LYFE Kitchen, now only open in Palo Alto, Ca., has narrowed in on their expansion plans and will open two in Chicago by summer 2013, Mike Donahue, LYFE's chief brand and communications officer says. One will be in the city and one in the Evanston area, they're scouting for exact locations. LYFE focuses on healthy, socially-responsible fast-casual cuisine; everything on their menus is under 600 calories and 1000 mg of sodium. Chef Art Smith of Table Fifty-Two helms the Chicago expansions, which will feature a "regional touch." They hold contests on social media to choose menu items, there's one on Facebook right now for the upcoming Culver City location. Who thinks they can keep an italian beef under 600 calories?
