Metropolis Coming to Midway; Attempted Bakery Robbery

NORTHWEST SIDE— Three masked would-be burglars attempted to rob Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery, a commercial bakery on the Northwest Side, at gunpoint late Saturday night. Some employees escaped and called police, and the suspects fled, taking nothing. The police have yet to apprehend them. [CT]

MIDWAY AIRPORTMetropolis Coffee will open a branch at Midway Airport next summer. It will have space for "a full coffee and espresso bar, seating, and retail." [Chicagoist]
