It's not a tip, but a bartender has just gotten a sweet payout. A jury has awarded $850,000 to Karolina Obrycka, a bartender who got beaten by "rogue" cop Anthony Abbate at Jesse's Shortstop Inn in 2007. The landmark verdict also holds the city and Chicago Police Department responsible for decades-long "code of silence" that protects crime-committing cops. The city, of course, places all the blame on Abbate and plans to challenge or appeal the ruling. [Sun-Times]
