Karamela Cafe, Drunken Pig, Oliver's Cafe Now Open

SOUTH LOOP—The awning went up back in April and then it looked like it might not open. But now Karamela Cafe at 1250 S. Michigan just opened, six months later. It joins other nearby spots like City Tavern, Waffles and Square One to a growing dining and drinking scene over there. [Sloopin]

WEST ROGERS PARK—While Matsu Shita closed, the space didn't remain empty very long. The Drunken Pig, a brick-lined, retro-feeling tavern with a few dozen craft beers and small plates, opened quietly at 5854 N. Lincoln and is ready to serve you. [Urban Daddy]

BRIDGEPORT—Oliver's Cafe, an intimate new bistro, is now open 451 W. 31st. The American BYO spot has affordable plates like a pan-seared sea scallop appetizer, Asian-style marinated Australian rack of lamb and Canadian Rivers blackened salmon.
