BOYSTOWN—Fast-casual Mexican spot Mr. Taco (3332 N. Broadway) closed and now there are for lease signs in the windows. [LTH Forum]

LINCOLN PARK—The Lincoln Park location of Zapatista at 444 W. Fullerton, closed about three weeks ago. A rep at the main office said it was just a "corporate decision," and that another location will open in Naperville in mid-November. The South Loop and Northbrook locations remain open. [EaterWire]

LOGAN SQUARECafe Bolero, a longtime Cuban staple at 2252 N. Western, has shuttered. The Gonzalez family, which also owns El Cid, recently opened, Paladar, a new Cuban and rum bar, at 2115 N. Milwaukee. [EaterWire]

TRI-TAYLOR—On Oct. 18, the owners of Italian Superior Bakery (933 S. Western), a.k.a. "Western Ave. Bread," posted a note on Facebook announcing that the bakery will close on Jan. 1. Citing the economy, the Saccameno family said that "the ever increasing commercialization of food production in our society such as the offerings by the Walmart, Costco of the world ... will be the demise of the mom and pop stores across our nation."
