Christie Hefner Buys on Mag Mile; Juicy East Village Development Site; More

And now the latest from Curbed Chicago, covering everything you need to know about the city's neighborhoods and real estate...

STREETERVILLE— Former Playboy exec Christie Hefner recently separated from her husband, prompting the purchase of a bachelorette pad on the Mag Mile. The 2,100-square-foot, 42nd floor 2-bed cost $1.05M. For those keeping score, Hefner's unit is three floors above Mike Ditka's. Best to consolidate the celebs.

EAST VILLAGE— The latest installation of Please Build Here has us ogling a recently cleared 3-lot development parcel at Chicago & Wood. Incidentally, this is just opposite the site of Fifield Co's 63-unit mixed-use proposal. Should something similar arrive at the smaller site, this forlorn stretch of Chicago will better connect with commercial strips to the east and west.

THE BURBS— Earlier this week Curbed mapped the single most expensive property listings in Chicagoland's seven priciest zip codes. Surprise, surprise, none were in the city proper. The zips all belonged to Forbes' top 500 national list, which served as inspiration. Check it out!

RIVER NORTH— Another resurrected Curbed feature is least expensive properties, neighborhood by neighborhood. Three of the five studios on our list are Marina City units, so don't expect tons of variety. We would've had to go at least 10 deep to bring any River North one-beds into the mix.
