It has been a rocky year for The Depot American Diner. The restaurant was briefly shut down in March and April after a failed health inspection needed three weeks to bring everything up to code. Owners Robert and Anna Marie Nava paid more than $4,000 in fines to the city and made various repairs to the fridges and interior. Things seemed to be running smoothly but now according to a post on LTH Forum, signs on the diner reveal that it's under new management and closed again for more remodeling.
There's no timetable for when it will reopen or indication as to who the new owners are but it will be interesting to see what changes, if any, are made to the menu. The restaurant has built a loyal following with appreances on Check, Please! and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and with the recent diner resurgence with spots like Au Cheval and Little Goat popping up, it would be a shame to lose one of the few remaining traditional diners in the city.
