Chicago Breweries Win Big at Great American Beer Fest

New, 1 comment

Chicago's food scene isn't the only aspect of the culinary world that's getting love on a national level. The brewing scene, which has been gaining more and more momentum over the last decade, is continuing to heat up. Over the weekend at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, six Chicago breweries scored big wins.

With more than 4,300 entries from 666 breweries across 84 categories, Chicago brewers made a pretty good showing. Both Goose Island and Revolution Brewing took home gold medals in two categories each while Piece Brewery and Two Brothers also each snagged two silver medals. Revolution and Two Brothers also grabbed bronze medals as did 5 Rabbit and Three Floyds. Pretty great to see the local brew scene getting more national attention.
