Bon Appetit Names Au Cheval Best Burger

New, 37 comments

The big guns from Bon Appetit were in town for Chicago Gourmet all weekend. As if the tasting pavilions weren't enough, Adam Rapoport, Editor in Chief and Andrew Knowlton, Restaurant and Drinks Editor, made several other visits around town including Trencherman and Alinea, but it's the burger at Au Cheval that got a lot of love from Bon Appetit.

This weekend, Matt Duckor posted on Bon Appetit's blog that Au Cheval's burger is the best in America. Brendan Sodikoff, owner of Au Cheval, must be thrilled that his double patty, brioche-bunned winner caught the attention of BA staff because Knowlton went not once, but twice post-dinner to feast at Au Cheval. Anyone following Knowlton on Twitter knows he was damn serious when he confirmed his adoration by tweeting, 'Yes we do! "?@bonappetit: We think the burger at Chicago's ?@aucheval is just about perfect'. If the lines weren't long enough already, Au Cheval might need to bulk up on their beef patties when the rest of the country shows up to weigh in on the best burger nod.
