Casteel Coffee, an independent roaster and coffee retailer in Evanston, announced on Saturday Jan. 7 that after 20 years it would be closing. The company, started by Lee Casteel, was a pioneer in local roasting, but sold to Carol Davis who began outsourcing the roasting to Michigan-based Uncommon Grounds last year.
