Bill Kim Teams with Cornerstone, Michael Jordan to Open Belly Q in Former One Sixtyblue Space

Bill Kim has partnered with Cornerstone Restaurant Group and Michael Jordan to open Belly Q, an Asian barbecue concept. The restaurant, which also pairs Kim's wife, Yvonne Cadiz-Kim (his partner at both Urban Belly and Belly Shack), will take over the now-shuttered one sixtyblue and open sometime this spring.

Details on the project are scant, but expect the space to undergo a full makeover and be a big departure from the look of the longstanding one sixtyblue, which sits at the far west end of the Randolph Street restaurant row.

While the menu is still being developed, a press release sent out this morning said to "expect a flavor palette that’s boldly smoky and brightly piquant, with a depth of flavor that sneaks up on you and leaves you wanting more." With Kim's background creating bold flavors at his current restaurants as well as his time at fine dining establishments Le Lan and Charlie Trotter's, where he was chef de cuisine, expect Belly Q to rise to the top.
