Just Grapes Wine Shop Closing on Jan. 31, Sale on Now

An email was circulated this morning announcing a closing sale at West Loop wine shop Just Grapes. After seven years owner Don Sritong is being forced to shutter after he failed to renegotiate the store's lease. But while the physical storefront will close on Jan. 31, Sritong will continue to operate the Just Grapes online store to sell hand-selected wine, beer and spirits.

Due to the closure, Sritong has announced the Final Last Call Blow Out Sale, which starts today and will take place both at the store and on the website through Jan. 31. In addition to clearing out the inventory of wine and beer, Just Grapes will also sell accessories and the store's fixtures, furniture and equipment.

During the course of the last seven years, Just Grapes became more than just a wine shop. With his advanced wine knowledge, Sritong has led wine education classes at the location in addition to special events and dinners. There's no word yet on whether Sritong will hold classes in a different location in the future.

"The dream of any entrepreneur is to fulfill a vision," Sritong wrote in the email. "I hope that I fulfilled my vision of making wine 'simple, fun and functional' focusing on the customer service and a superior customer experience. I want to thank all of our loyal customers that allowed us to be around for these last seven years. We hope to see you again soon."
